Traffic Collision near Shaw Avenue Claimed the Life of One 29-Year-Old Motorcyclist

FRESNO, CA (September 21, 2022) – Friday night, police responded to a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of Caleb Carias-Jurado.

The incident took place in the southbound lanes of Highway 99, north of Shaw Avenue, at about 7:30 p.m., September 16th, involving a Harley-Davidson and a Toyota Corolla.

According to police, Carias-Jurado was traveling on the left side of the southbound lanes and failed to notice something in the roadway, consequently crashing into the object.

Furthermore, Carias-Jurado was ejected from his motorcycle landing in the right lanes and was struck by a Toyota driven by a 28-year-old woman.

Carias-Jurado was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Corolla did not suffer any injuries as a result of the collision.

Meanwhile, police temporarily shutdown a portion of the roadway to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. An active investigation is underway.
