Additionally, the blend in Cacao Mix combines powder superfoods such as Turmeric, MCT powder, cinnamon, and mushroom extracts.

To learn more about the nutritious blend, let’s take a closer look at how Cacao Bliss works and what’s inside the unique formula.

What is Cacao Bliss?

Cacao Bliss is a nutritional supplement consisting of raw cacao powder mixed with mushroom extracts, plant extracts, and other superfood ingredients.

The makers of Cacao Bliss market the supplement as “a new healthy healing chocolate.” By mixing the powder and drinking it daily, you can enjoy the benefits of chocolate without the downsides – like high sugar or fat content.

Chocolate, cocoa, and cacao are trendier than ever. Today, you can find plenty of chocolate and cacao supplements available online for a reasonable rate.

Cacao Bliss is available through their official website and other online retailers for about $60 per bag. The supplement is made by a natural health and wellness company named Earth Echo.

How Does Cacao Bliss Work?

Cacao is the raw form of chocolate before it’s processed. Because cacao goes through less processing, it’s rich with vitamins and minerals. There are more magnesium, copper, potassium, and iron in cacao than chocolate, which is why many people take cacao daily to support various benefits.

What makes Cacao Bliss different from the countless other chocolate formulas, however, is its use of other ingredients. Cacao Bliss doesn’t just contain cacao powder, cocoa, and chocolate: the formula also mixes turmeric, MCT powder, cinnamon, mushroom extracts, and other ingredients into the formula.

Cacao Bliss comes in the form of a powder. You may mix the powder with water, milk, almond milk, a smoothie, a shake, or any other beverage of your choice. Additionally, the cacao blend can also be used for baking.

Some of the advertised benefits of Cacao Bliss include:

  • Support a positive mood
  • Support weight loss goals
  • Promote and support skin health
  • Support a healthy aging process
  • Promote mental alertness
  • Support deeper rest and reduced sleeplessness

Overall, Cacao Bliss by Earth Echo maintains, their formula can “bring out the bliss in you,” supporting a positive mood in various ways.

Cacao Bliss is also USDA Organic certified – something not all cacao supplements can claim to have. USDA Organic certification is a big deal, and it shows Earth Echo sources its cacao from more reputable sources than the average powder.

You can drink the Cacao Bliss powder with a beverage. Or, you can use it for baking and other purposes. Some of the recommended uses of Cacao Bliss include:

  • Bake it into a dessert, like a chocolate cake
  • Mix it with warm water or milk to create a hot chocolate
  • Shake it or blend it with other ingredients to create a superfood smoothie
  • Mix it with coffee and drink it every morning to boost your energy
  • Mix it with almond milk or coconut milk
  • Add it to yogurt, granola bowl, acai bowl, or other dishes
  • You can mix Cacao Bliss with water, milk, a shake, or any other beverage of your choice. However you take it, you mix one scoop of the powder with 8 fl oz of hot, warm, or cold liquid.

Cacao Bliss Ingredients

You can find plenty of cheaper cacao powder supplements available online, including bulk cacao powder at a discount rate. What makes Cacao Bliss different from competing supplements, however, is the sun-kissed method use to slowly roast the beans, as well as the use of additional ingredients to complement the effects listed above.

Here’s how Earth Echo describes each ingredient and how it works:

Raw Cacao: Cacao Bliss contains raw cacao to support blood sugar, satiety, weight management, and other benefits. Cacao is rich with minerals and vitamins that aren’t found in the final, processed form of chocolate.

Turmeric: Cacao Bliss uses turmeric, a popular and trendy ingredient that could support inflammation in various ways. Many people take turmeric daily to flood the body with curcumin and curcuminoids, which are linked to inflammation and oxidation support, among other benefits.

Black Pepper Extract: Cacao Bliss contains black pepper extract, which is found in most turmeric supplements because it may boost the bioavailability of turmeric. Without turmeric, the absorption of turmeric drops by about 2,000%, so it’s important for most turmeric supplements.

MCT Powder: Medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) powder makes it easier for your body to release stubborn fat deposits, according to Earth Echo. Some people take MCT powder daily as a source of healthy fats. Others take MCT powder to feel fuller for longer. It can support satiety and weight management in various ways.

Other Herb and Plant Extracts: Cacao Bliss also contains cinnamon, coconut nectar, lucuma, mesquite, and Himalayan salt, among other ingredients.

Sweeteners: Cacao Bliss contains sweeteners like monk fruit extract, a popular natural additive that works similar to stevia, adding natural sweetness to a supplement or formula.

By taking these ingredients daily, you can purportedly unlock the ‘bliss molecule’ within your body, according to Earth Echo. This molecule is linked with better antioxidant support, happiness, and other benefits.

Scientific Evidence for Cacao Bliss

Obviously, taking chocolate daily for health benefits sounds awesome. But does Cacao Bliss really unlock the ‘bliss molecule’ and provide other powerful benefits? Is there any scientific evidence supporting Cacao Bliss?

First, let’s explain what cacao is.

The substance we know as the chocolate begins life as a cacao pod. A chocolate company removes that cacao pod from the plant then ferments, dries, and roasts the pod to turn it into a cocoa bean. Once the pod has been fermented, dried, and roasted, chocolate companies use different processing techniques to create chocolate.

During processing, chocolate companies separate the shells of the cacao pod from the ‘nibs’ or ‘meat’ of the pod. Then, they grind this material into a liquid called chocolate liquor, which is then refined to create cocoa solids and chocolate – including the kinds of chocolate you eat.

You may have heard that dark chocolate is good for you in normal quantities. That’s possibly true. Dark chocolate contains 50% to 90% cocoa solids, cocoa butter, and sugar, compared to just 10% to 20% in a normal milk chocolate bar.

Whether you take cocoa or cacao, you’re getting a substantial dose of flavonols. Flavanols are plant-derived chemicals with antioxidant effects. Some studies show that flavonols are particularly beneficial for the heart. Flavonols could raise nitric oxide production in the body, widening blood vessels and making it easier for your heart to function.

As Harvard Health explains, flavonols are linked with other benefits, including increased insulin sensitivity and better overall blood flow.

In this review published in Antioxidants & Redox Signaling in 2011, researchers analyzed available evidence on cocoa and concluded that “the benefits of moderate cocoa or dark chocolate consumption likely outweigh the risks.” Researchers found that cocoa and cacao can protect nerves from injury and inflammation, protect the skin from oxidative damage, support cognitive function, and provide other benefits.

Meanwhile, this 2011 study published in a different journal described cacao seeds as a “super fruit,” citing various evidence showing that cacao powder was more effective than comparative fruit powders and products.

Cacao Bliss also contains ingredients like turmeric. Hundreds of studies have linked turmeric to various benefits, with most of the benefits linked to turmeric’s antioxidant content. Instead of summarizing each study, we’ll cite this 2017 study published in Foods that showed turmeric appeared to help with inflammation, muscle soreness, anxiety, arthritis, and other conditions.

Researchers cautioned that turmeric is poorly absorbed without black pepper extract, however, citing a study showing that black pepper extract increased absorption by 2,000%. Cacao Bliss contains both turmeric and black pepper extract, although we don’t know the specific dose of either ingredient.

The makers of Cacao Bliss also make a big deal out of the ‘bliss molecule’ released when your body consumes chocolate. It’s true: when your body eats good foods, your body releases serotonin. Your brain also releases other chemicals after eating chocolate, including theobromine, PEA, and anandamide, among others.
