On Top Chef last night, they were cooking rabbits; in Studio at Montage at Laguna Beach, rabbits trim the grass outside the restaurant patio and, thus far, are not on Craig Strong's menu. In Nagoya, Japan, they're the latest thing in themed coffee shops. Pet cafés, which are popular in that country, are usually cat-themed. The Usagi-to-Café is all about rabbits. The coffee shop is outfitted with rabbit décor; the rice curry is molded in the shape of a rabbit. And 18 “staff bunnies” are on hand, albeit in a separate room, for patrons to cuddle. You can also BYOB, or bring your own bunny, should you have one in need of some socialization or a bit of rice curry. Check out the cafe's website (it's in Japanese), where you can find a map to the café, the next time you're in central Japan, as well as view pictures of the bunnies and learn their names and birthdays.
