Burning Man's Temple: Remembering Michael Dwayne Bolinger

At this year's Burning Man festival, law enforcement officers from the Bureau of Land Management participated in a longstanding Burning Man tradition by remembering one of their own at Burning Man's Temple. The memorial procession for BLM Special Agent Michael Dwayne Bolinger, who died of cancer earlier in the summer, was held on Thursday of the event. Despite rumors of a law enforcement crackdown at Burning Man, the BLM Rangers, many of whom have worked at the event for multiple years, see themselves as a part of the city, not a force sent to destroy it.
