She may be no Brenda Starr when it comes to separating emotions from news reporting, but Georgia Informer columnist Brenda Lee knew how to cause a stir at LAX today. According to the Associated Press, Lee had to be carried off by her hands and feet after refusing to leave the press area near Air Force One. The incident occurred shortly before President Obama was scheduled to arrive by helicopter at the airport for his departure from Los Angeles.

She later told AP she had requested that a Secret Service agent to pass on a letter of hers to Obama — one asking him to take a stand for “traditional marriage.” When the agent refused (paging Travis Bickle!), Lee told him, “I'll take my chances” by approaching the president herself.

Quicker than you could say, “John Hinckley,” Lee, who described herself as a Catholic “priestess”  who lives in Anaheim, was whisked away.

The

AP reports that Lee, who was attired in a cassock at the time, choked

up when recounting her fears that the agents could see under her

clothes. She was not arrested.
