The suspect in the opening day beating of Bryan Stow at Dodger Stadium might be wanted in an attempted murder near Las Vegas.

That's according to KCAL9 news. A spokesman for the Henderson, Nevada police, however, told LA Weekly late Tuesday that “I don't have any information about him being wanted” in the area for the shooting described by the station as retaliation for the murder of the subject's daughter.

That man, Giovanni Ramirez, has been named as a suspect in the beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow, who was put in a coma by the two-man attack in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium.

In the Nevada attack, Ramirez is said to have been wearing an L.A. Dodgers cap, according to KCAL.

The station says it obtained an incident report from the shooting, which happened about 20 miles outside of Vegas.

In it Ramirez's name was spelled differently, but the birth date matched the Dodger Stadium beating suspect's.

The station indicates the attack could have been retaliation for the 2005 killing of Ramirez's daughter.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck seemed to confirm the report, saying “it would not be false” to report that Ramirez had problems in another state.

Meanwhile, lawyers for Ramirez said Tuesday they have lots of evidence, including more than 10 alibi witnesses, indicating he couldn't have done it, according to KNX 1070 Newsradio.

What's more, the attorneys tell NBC Los Angeles' Patrick Healy that the suspect did not have a shaved head, as depicted in a police artist's sketch, the day of the attack.
