Two Airlifted after Rollover Accident near Cunningham Road

MERCED COUNTY, CA (April 18, 2022) Sunday, a crash on Highway 140 left Bryan Gonzalez Alvarez and Christina Hawley with injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car collision happened around 11:55 a.m., near Cunningham Road.

For unknown reasons, 23-year-old Alvarez failed to stop his northbound 2016 Volkswagen sedan at the intersection’s stop sign. Consequently, his Volkswagen collided with a westbound 2018 Audi sedan on Highway 140.

Upon impact, the Audi reportedly overturned along the roadway. Eventually, paramedics reached the scene and airlifted Bryan Gonzalez Alvarez and the Audi driver, 43-year-old Hawley, to Modesto-area hospitals for treatment.

At this time, an active investigation into the crash is underway. Once available, further details will be provided.
