Traffic Collision near Old Wards Ferry Left One Dead, One Injured

SONORA, CA (July 27, 2022) – On Sunday, a head-on crash along Highway 108 claimed the life of one person and left Bruce Krejcik injured.

Initial reports claimed that a westbound Mitsubishi Mirage was traveling in the westbound lanes near Old Wards Ferry Road around 5:00 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the Mitsubishi collided head-on with an eastbound Lexus driven by 72-year-old Bruce Krejcik of Toulumne.

Eventually, the responding authorities declared the 41-year-old Mirage driver dead at the scene.

However, authorities have yet to release the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, Krejcik was airlifted to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for further treatment of significant injuries.

A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, Sonora Officials continue to investigate Highway 108 head-on crash.
