Highway 20 Head-On Collision Resulted in One Fatality

LAKE COUNTY, CA (August 9, 2021) On Saturday, a deadly head-on collision on Highway 20 claimed the life of Brittany Marie Turner, according to the CHP.

Initially, the incident occurred around 2:50 P.M. on Highway 20 west of Blue Lakes Road.

Authorities claimed that Turner’s Mazda crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a Volkswagen.

As a result, both vehicles became disabled and paramedics were forced to extract Brittany from her car.

Tragically, 31-year-old Brittany Marie Turner died at the scene despite the life-saving efforts of the paramedics.

Meanwhile, her passenger, identified as 34-year-old Patrick Turner of Ukiah suffered injuries as well.

In addition, the two occupants of the Volkswagen, 18-year-old Robert Fetzer of Redwood Valle and 19-year-old Taylor Travis of Ukiah, received minor injuries.

Lake County officials ruled out intoxication as a contributing factor in the crash.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
