Who said, “It's truly a blessing to have total freaking idiots as your enemy”? That barb could just as easily come from Bill Maher as Rachel Maddow, but it was Maddow's line. Both savvy, well-informed television hosts and political commentators who favor expensive blazers will sit down in front of you when Writers Bloc brings them together to “talk about the way politicians make decisions.” Maddow's in town to promote her new book, Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power. The format is simple: They'll gab, the political analysis and biting saccasm will flow, and then the audience can ask questions. So think of something challenging and witty to ask, not necessarily about Mitt Romney. Saban Theater, 8440 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills; Tues., April 10, 8 p.m.; $42, which includes a copy of Maddow's book; brownpapertickets.com.
