A man was gunned down and his friend was injured as they were entering an after-hours club in South Los Angeles April 10.

Brian De Loach, 37, died from a gunshot wound to the right flank.

According to police reports, De Loach and his friend were entering the “Route 66 Hot Spot” located at 2321 West 54th Street around 2 a.m. when a gunman fired five or six shots inside the doorway striking both of them.

De Loach died at the scene. His friend was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for a gun shot wound to the upper torso. He is expected to survive. Police said the victims were not gang members but believe the shooting was gang-related.
