23-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Dalhart

HARTLEY COUNTY, TX (January 12, 2024)Brett Jones died Thursday afternoon and Anna Agosto sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on US 87. Police officers responded to the scene around 6:15 p.m., about six miles southwest of Dalhart.

Investigators report that 19-year-old Garrett Henderson from Farwell was operating a 2017 Ford F-250 at an unsafe speed in snowy conditions, causing the Ford to slide into the northeast lanes and collide head-on with a 2014 Nissan Altima.

Emergency medical personnel arrived and pronounced 23-year-old Jones from Stone Mountain, Georgia, deceased at the scene. Additionally, paramedics transported 22-year-old Agosto from Tucson, AZ, to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
