Ever been out at a restaurant, glanced at the daily specials, and secretly wished you could convince the chef to just look at one of your recipes?

Well, now is your chance to get your signature entrée made by BLD's chef de cuisine, Diana Stavaridis. Each week, she'll select her favorite main course from recipes sent through her Twitter profile, and if she chooses yours as the Thursday-night plat du jour, you and a guest eat at BLD for free.

The restaurant specializes in classic comfort food (it stands for “breakfast, lunch, dinner”), but curious cooks would do best to put an innovative spin on that simple, familiar, home-cooked meal. Co-owner Amy Knoll Fraser advises contestants to consider “high quality product and slow process” when sending in recipes, and offers an tip to tweeters: “Diana loves to smoke things.”

Entries are due every Thursday night, and the winning meal lands a spot on the menu the following Thursday. BLD's “Tweet-a-Dish Plat du Jour” special kicks off this week, with entries due midnight, April 15. Just like your taxes.
