A suspect who was fatally shot by a Wilmington jewelry store owner in a robbery gone awry August 18 has been identified as 20-year-old Brandon Lincoln. The store owner also shot another robbery suspect. A third suspect was arrested and a fourth remained at large. The botched robbery attempt occurred at the Rios Jewelry store at 825 N. Avalon Blvd., near Anaheim Street, about 6:20 p.m. The area was busy with shoppers when the armed gunmen entered the store and began smashing the jewelry cases. The suspects who were shot were taken to a hospital, where Lincoln was pronounced dead.

Police believe the suspects were responsible for a series of robberies in Los Angeles. Anyone with information about the shooting should contact LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division detectives at (213) 486-6840.
