U.K. band Brakesbrakesbrakes return to Spaceland tonight for their first show in Los Angeles in over two years. It's not that they don't love us, but Bx3 have been busy. Touring the states with the terribly named–and terribly awesome–We Were Promised Jetpacks and Twilight Sad, in addition to releasing their ecstatic, hook-filled album, Touchdown (and a live album, Rock Is Dodelijk) takes more time than one would think. But they're back. Tonight the band will deliver their carefully measured sound, a delicately balanced concoction of pop-rock structure with just the right amount of edge, to Spaceland's sorta mopey set. Two years is a long time to be away, but you know what they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.
