13-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured in Pedestrian Accident near Brimhall Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 28, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, one boy was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Jewetta Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 3:57 a.m., near Brimhall Road.

Per reports, a 13-year-old boy was crossing Brimhall Road north against a do not walk sign. There, the driver of a westbound vehicle struck the teen.

Paramedics arrived and transported the teen boy to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

In addition, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe that impairment played a factor.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
