10-Year-Old Boy Hurt in Parade Float Collision near East Avenue of the Fountains

FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ (December 12, 2022) – Thursday morning, a boy sustained injuries in a parade float accident on North Verde River Drive.

The incident occurred on Thanksgiving Day near the intersection of East Avenue of the Fountains and Verde River Drive. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after.

Following preliminary duties, officers  determined that a 10-year-old boy fell from a float and was then hit by another passing float shortly after. As a result, the young boy suffered minor injuries.

At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more information will be provided about the parade float accident on North Verde River Drive.
