In a two-part livestreaming session with Eater National yesterday, Anthony Bourdain announced that he will be attending San Diego Comic-Con in July to promote his forthcoming graphic novel, Get Jiro! Though the author revealed details of the project last October at New York Comic-Con, describing it as “an ultra-violent slaughter-fest over culinary arcana,” yesterday's announcement likely narrows the approximate release date from “sometime in 2011” to sometime before late July, so that the publishers can cash in on his appearance at Con.

Squid Ink will keep you Bourdainiacs up to date with information about Get Jiro! and which of the four days Bourdain will be there so that you can get your tickets before they sell out (and they will), on the condition that you tell us where to get a decent meal around the Convention Center. That is, unless you're already in No Reservations mode and plan to brave the concession stand. Think fermented shark seems disgusting? Try a “hot dog” at the San Diego Convention Center.
