35-Year-Old Mother Dies in Fatal Rollover Crash near Tavern Road

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (July 25, 2022) – Friday morning, Bonnie Roth lost her life in a solo-car accident on Interstate 8.

The accident happened around 8:38 a.m., west of Tavern Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, Roth was driving westbound in a Chevrolet Tahoe when, for reasons currently unknown, she drifted off the right side of the road.

She then overcorrected, veered left, and drove off the highway. The Tahoe rolled down an embankment and came to a stop in an eastbound lane. Roth was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and as a result, was thrown from her vehicle.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 35-year-old Roth dead at the scene, due to multiple blunt force injuries. Meanwhile medics rushed Roth’s two daughters, ages 3 and 9, to Rady Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
