Condé Naste announced this morning that food magazine Bon Appétit will relocate its offices later this year from Los Angeles to New York, and that, after 32 years with the magazine, editor-in-chief Barbara Fairchild will be leaving the magazine. Fairchild will be leaving to “pursue other opportunities,” according to a press release — including further projects with Condé Naste — and will stay on until the transition is complete, at which time a new Bon Appétit editor will be named. Fairchild was editor-in-chief for the last ten years.

“The move of Bon Appétit 's editorial headquarters to New York is part of the company's continuing efforts to strategically align our brands for future growth and to enhance efficiencies and coordination by consolidating our assets,” said Condé Nast chief executive officer Charles H. Townsend in the release.
