Cops are asking for the public's help in catching three, bold girl criminals in a burglary crew that hits pricey homes in the Encino and San Fernando Valley hills, by waltzing up to the front door and knocking — then hitting the house if nobody answers.

It's the latest in a rash of girl and young women criminals who seem to be taking on what used to be a male-dominated career path. Remember the Sylmar Fire's “lady looters?” A sleazy bunch, for sure.

Police have released video (see next page) in hopes that somebody recognizes this new female crew. Here's the strangest part about the three women and their M.O.:

They seem to have no fear of being on camera. Hell, maybe they like it.

You can view video of the suspects at lapdtv.org.

According to City News Service, the video is “from a recent attempted burglary which occurred Friday around 10:30 a.m. at a home in the Encino Hills section of Los Angeles,

south of Ventura Boulevard.”

The women, who all look to be in their 20s, can be seen on the video repeatedly  knocking on the front door. No sneaking around for this bunch. Then they went in the back, police say, broke a window, and ran when an alarm went off.

So we know two things about them: they are bold, and they are fairly new at this. Experienced burglars would never break a window without figuring out first if it was wired. Police say the same crew is suspected in two other burglaries in the ritzy area, which is not too far from Michael Jackson's family home.
