Summer solstice weekend! Time to head to Cahuenga Pass as two local companies open the Ford's alfresco dance series under the banner Made in L.A. The contemporary company BODYTRAFFIC reprises its highly praised Transfigured Night set to the Schoenberg score by choreographers Guy Weizman and Roni Haver. L.A. Contemporary Dance Company shares the evening as choreographer Kate Hutter and director David Bridell combine today's headlines and the revenge killings of the Greek tragedy Elektra in the premiere of Gods and Marionettes. The LACDC dancers take the roles usually taken by actors, a narrator emerges from the audience, and the a cappella group Sonos is the literal Greek chorus.
