A man friends identified as Bobby Khamvongsa died in a stabbing blocks from Beverly Center over the weekend.

A freelance TV journalist at the scene said the victim was wearing women's clothes, according to City News Service.

Police said the attack punctuated a heated argument about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday in the 300 block of North Orlando Avenue, which is near Beverly Boulevard and just a few blocks east of Beverly Center. The suspect was identified by the LAPD this weekend as …

… as 29-year-old Richard Herrera, who was arrested in connection with the homicide.

It appears that cops went to the scene based on reports of a possible hit-and-run with a man lying in the street, but when officers arrived they found the stabbing victim.

Weho Daily reported that the victim was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

A friend named Elijah Wade Jacobson posted on Facebook that the man was Bobby Khamvongsa:

Just found out that one of my friends, Bobby Khamvongsa, was stabbed to death in LA yesterday morning. Please keep his friends/family in your thoughts and/or prayers …

At least one other friend tweeted an “R.I.P.” message about Khamvongsa.

On his Facebook page, Khamvongsa posts a few photos of himself with and without makeup.
