If you're a sports fan, this is a glorious time of year. The Stanley Cup finals begin tonight (Go Kings!), the NBA finals begin tomorrow (Your Clippers comment here: ____ ) and the Dodgers are finally trying to play some decent baseball.

If you don't live in a frat house, you may be looking for a good place to watch a game, eat some excellent food and drink yourself silly. As we've noted before in these pages, Bludso's Bar-&-Cue on La Brea is a pretty fine place to do this.

Well, it's now an even better place for sports-watching, since as of this afternoon, Bludso's will be serving happy hour. From 5-7 p.m., Monday through Friday, you can get $3 PBR and Shiner bock, and $2 off all cocktails. And if you're the designated driver (cheers), order yourself some soda water and not a few $3 brisket or pulled pork sliders.]

To be clear: The folks at Bludso's say that their official policy to cheer the Kings (this should go without saying) and to support the San Antonio Spurs. The latter should come as no surprise, since Kevin Bludso is from Texas. As all these weekday games begin early around here, the happy hour will too. And yes, of course it will continue after the NHL and NBA series are over, because you try getting rid of a happy hour once you've started it. And by then, hopefully we'll have a pennant race on our hands.

More on the food specials: Brisket and pulled pork sliders are $3 for 1 and $8 for 3, and all come with slaw, sauce, and pickled jalapeño on a Hawaiian roll. You know the rest of the drill. Happy cheering and travel safely.

(Editor's note: Contrary to our original information, Bludso's does not in fact carry all Dodgers games, as they, like so many of the rest of us, do not get that stupid channel.)
