Presented at 3rd Street and Traction Avenue in the Downtown Arts District, BloomfestLA offers live indie music, local artisan wares, and good food amidst a rotating outdoor gallery of street art by renowned artists.

The Downtown Arts District consists of artist studios, coffeehouses such as Urth Caffé and Novel Café, restaurants such as Wurstküche and Café Metropol, creative entrepreneurs, art galleries, nonprofits such as Cornerstone Theater Company and Art Share Los Angeles, industrial businesses, and government agencies anchored by the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). It is in the heart of the City of Los Angeles CleanTech Corridor, which is building a new business center and campus for developing clean and sustainable technologies scheduled to open in 2013. The boundaries of the Downtown Arts District are Alameda Street on the west, the Los Angeles River on the east, the 101 Freeway on the north, and 7th Street on the south.

The community event is organized in partnership with the Los Angeles River Artist & Business Association (LARABA), a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the Downtown Arts District.
