Sabrina Teitelbaum: The first time I fell in love with the Rolling Stones was watching them play live on their 2005 A Bigger Bang tour.

The second time was when I heard Tattoo You. I grew up with classic rock around the house, but it was mostly the hits. I knew “Start Me Up” so when I found the full album downloaded on my parents IPod I decided to listen through.

This album has been a musical pillar for me for the last 15 years and conjures up a lot of nostalgia, but that’s not why I still love it.

I continue to come back to these songs because the guitar tones somehow sound like vocals, Mick Jagger’s delivery gives me more confidence walking around, and because these songs show the truly romantic, intimate, singer/songwriter side of the biggest rock band in the world.

Blondshell Rolls with the Stones: Blondshell’s “Kiss City” is out now. She plays the Lodge Room on Wednesday, September 7 with Porridge Radio.
