50-Year-Old Woman Dead after Two-Car Accident on Merced Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 4, 2022) – 50-year-old Blanca Esthela Rodriguez, of Pearland, lost her life Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision on Merced Avenue.

The accident occurred around 12:05 p.m. near Magnolia Avenue and Merced Avenue.

Two vehicles collided, according to the California Highway Patrol, but the circumstances of the collision are unknown.

First responders pronounced Rodriguez dead at the scene due to the severity of her injuries sustained in the crash.

At this time, authorities have not yet released a description of the second vehicle involved. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal crash on Merced Avenue is still under active investigation.

California Highway Patrol officers urge anyone who witnessed the crash or the events leading up to the crash to call their local offices.
