Sam Lipsyte's Home Land was a cringingly hilarious story of Lewis “Teabag” Miner as he writes letter after letter to his high school alumni newsletter. Lovable and miserable failures are specialty of Lipsyte's; he has recently come out with The Ask, the story of Milo Burke, a washed-up painter working at a third-rate university. Lipsyte discusses and signs The Ask.
