Mexia, bilingual hip-hop artist and son of one of the founding members of Los Tigres del Norte, has written and recorded a new song addressing the new immigration law in Arizona.

Entitled “Todos Somos Arizona,” the song expresses the singer's “fear and frustration” about the new law. This is a social and personal issue for Mexia, who is known as both a rising hip-hop artist in his own right and the son of Los Tigres' Herman Hernandez:

Mexia, who has dual American and Mexican citizenship says, “I was born and raised here to think that this is the land of the free and the home of the brave but now we have to watch our back in our own backyard. It's terrible to live in fear. Our grandmother was born in Jerome, Arizona, and we have other family and college age friends who live there. I think 'What will happen to me if I leave their house without my wallet?'”

Check out a making-of video for the song, which will be performed at the Voto Latino special that airs on Univision June 3:
