Traffic Collision on Highway 299 Left Driver Hospitalized

DOUGLAS CITY, CA (July 26, 2022) – Police identified Bilal Abdelrauf and David Marceau as the two involved in a crash along Highway 299.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday at around 2:20 p.m., when Abdelrauf turned left to merge onto the highway and collided head-on with Marceau’s vehicle.

Eventually, first responders arrived and transported 74-year-old David Marceau to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment of minor injuries.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Bilal Abdelrauf and his passenger declined medical transport at the scene.

Douglas City Officials said intoxication did not factor into the Highway 299 head-on crash. No other information regarding the collision is available to the public at this time, an active investigation is currently ongoing.
