Dennis RomeroWith storm-generated waves estimated by the National Weather Service to be reaching 6 to 8 feet, Mother Nature put on a show for beach watchers over the weekend.
Some surfers paddled out, but few seemed to get decent waves. The waves were “closing out,” or offering nothing rides as they crashed down.

But diners at Moby Dick in Santa Barbara got a tasty wave Saturday morning:

That's because the surf crashed through a window of the eatery, which is located on the Stearns Wharf. Here's the video:
Locally, Venice Pier appeared to get waves large enough to nearly reach its walkway:
Surf at El Porto on the north side of Manhattan Beach was breaking way far out:
Waves breached the Redondo Beach Pier Saturday night, and the nearby King Harbor Yacht Club was evacuated, according to City News Service.
But La Jolla, in San Diego, appeared to get the some of the most picturesque storm surf:
