You gotta give it to America Apparel, the L.A.-based maker of global hipster-wear: They see the Next Big Thing before the rest of us do.

Long before it was massively cool to trumpet same-sex marriage, AA was there with its “Legalize Gay” t-shirt. And, along those lines, the company has been at the forefront of immigrants' rights, not only hiring (and getting in trouble for) more than a thousand workers of dubious documentation, but declaring “Legalize L.A.” on another line of shirts.

And now, AA brings you some next shit:

Legalize big girls. Sort of.

The company has launched a plus-size model search, and it has already been hit with big-girl photos aplenty via its online submission system. (Viewers can score the would-be models, too).

Just going through the photos, we must say, is a Latino man's dream come true. Why cruise American Apparel's photos of thin Ray-Ban girls in lingerie when you could have this kind of epic thickness?

We're a nation of overweight people, and it is American Apparel (if it were Asian Apparel it would be all super skinny and critical of anyone who wasn't, trust us). Until now AA was cutting out like 60 percent of its potential customers with its super-skinny tights and clingy dresses. The big-bone-ded demo is where it's at.

Anyway, AA's call for BBWs shows it knows what those kinds of ladies are all about:

We're looking for fresh faces (and curvaceous bods) to fill these babies out. If you think you've got what it takes to be the next XLent model, send us photos of you and your junk to back it up.

Just send us two recent photographs of yourself, one that clearly shows your face and one of your body. We'll select a winner to be flown out to our Los Angeles headquarters to star in your own bootylicious photoshoot. Runners up will win an enviable assortment of our favorite new styles in XL!

Show us what you're workin' with!

Right?

In conjunction with the search AA has announced that its “best-selling” Disco Pant and 10 other “sexy styles” are now available in (gasp) XL. (Which, to a hipster, is medium).

Bounce on over to your nearest AA boutique.
