Beverly Hills' newish Austrian restaurant BierBeisl will be showing off its European roots Thursday, June 21, when it hosts a special schnapps sampling event curated by world-class brandy distiller Hans Reisetbauer.

Guests will have the chance to sample six fruit brandies flavored with things like apricot, plum, wild cherry, raspberry, rowanberry and Williams pear as well as Reisetbauer's own seven-year Single Malt Whiskey and Blue Gin (for many the best and smoothest gin in the world). Reisetbauer also will discuss things like pairing spirits and what to look for on your palate while sipping.

Chef Bernhard Mairinger will be creating some bites for the event meant to pair with the brandies. On the menu are Sachertorten with homemade apricot jam, bacon-wrapped plums with toasted almonds, cherry strudel, white asparagus salad with balsamic raspberries and micro pepper cress, Maryland chicken Ballontine with braised butter lettuce and sauce Cumberland, seared rabbit loin with celery-pear salad and micro thyme and weisswurst poached in milk and onions. Seats are $65 per person and can be made by RSVPing with the restaurant.
