Bad times for bicyclists in L.A. The LAPD recently announced that a 38-year-old bike rider was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Chatsworth.

And now a guy on two wheels got shot up in the middle of the street in El Sereno, cops say, and much of it was caught on tape:

Yeah, a nearby security camera captured it: The victim rides by, a Toyota 4Runner rolls up in the opposite direction, two guys jump out, and then, apparently, guns are blazing.

Cops say it all happened July 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the 5200 block of Templeton Street. They're just letting us know now, it appears, because they found the video and hope it can lead to suspects.

Here's the miracle of the whole story: Despite being hit multiple times by gunfire, the bicyclist is OK. He was treated and is now back on the streets, able to ride another day.

The LAPD says the attack probably was gang-related.
