Man Hospitalized after Bicycle Accident near Antelope Road

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (July 29, 2022) – Friday night, a bicyclist was hurt in a collision on Sunrise Boulevard.

The incident happened on July 22nd, around 5:00 p.m., near the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Antelope Road.

According to police, the 62-year-old bicyclist was riding along Sunrise Boulevard when he was struck by a sedan. The impact of the crash left the man with critical injuries.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the man on the highway. There, they rendered first aid, and then rushed him to the hospital.

Citrus Heights officials closed down part of the road for three hours to perform cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigations.
