Bicycle Rider Pronounced Dead after Accident near Garnet Avenue

PALM SPRINGS, CA (March 29, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, a fatal crash on Indian Canyon Drive left one bicyclist dead.

Around 5:40 a.m., police responded to the scene near Palm Springs Station Road on Indian Canyon Drive.

At this time, the events leading up to the incident remain unclear. However, reports indicate that paramedics transported the bicyclist to a nearby hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of their condition, medics later pronounced the bicyclist dead at the hospital. Officers only described the victim as a Palm Springs resident.

Meanwhile, the driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Followin preliminary investigations, officers said drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash.

Moreover, no arrest has been issued to the vehicle driver.

The crash closed Indian Canyon Drive before it was later reopened at 9:35 a.m., to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. An active investigation is still currently ongoing.
