Vehicle Crash on University Avenue West of College Avenue Left Bicyclist Hurt

EL CERRITO, CA (December 20, 2021) –  A vehicle crash on University Avenue left 51-Year old bicyclist injured Tuesday afternoon.

San Diego Police said the crash happened around 5:05 p.m. The cyclist and the 21-Year old driver both passed a slow moving vehicle.

According to police, the bicyclist was in the bike lane on the right side of the roadway as the driver approached from behind.

Consequently, the driver then merged left to pass a slower vehicle. Eventually, the bicyclist was struck in the traffic lanes.

At this time, the identities of those involved in the crash have not been disclosed.
