The mother of a suspect who allegedly robbed an 11-year-old boy of his bike last month turned the brand-new item in to authorities.

When deputies gave the bicycle back to the child the next day, “He was excited,” Det. Joseph Cerda told us.

“He had tears in his eyes,” he said.

But the case is not closed. The 200-pound, 5-foot, 10-inch suspect, identified as 34-year-old Gabriel Estrada, is still on the loose, and authorities would like your help finding him.

“He's a gang member from South Los 13,” Cerda said. “We have received several leads on his whereabouts, but he's still at large.”

The alleged bully, suspected of strong-arm robbing the kid of the beach cruiser he'd just won during a Halloween event at Ted Watkins Memorial Park in unincorporated South L.A., has a record that includes “a variety of criminal charges in the past,” the detective said.

Here's what Los Angeles Sheriff's Department officials say Estrada did Oct. 31:

The suspect approached the young boy and allegedly forcefully pulled the bicycle from his grasp. The suspect then placed a small female child onto the handlebars and rode the bicycle away. Although the young boy and his mother chased after the suspect, they were unable to catch him.

Estrada has “STL” tattoos on his left arm and on his neck, authorities said.

If you know where Estrada is, drop a dime: 213-216-7675. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has filed a felony robbery allegation against him, Cerda said, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

If you can help, authorities would be thankful.
