The story of Flavia Leal, the founder of the Flavia Leal Beauty School, a motivational speaker and beauty expert, is certainly a rags-to-riches story. She has overcome quite a lot of obstacles and heartache to achieve all that she has today.
Leal entered the United States from Brazil in 2000 seeking a better life for her family. The following years would prove to be difficult as she worked over 80 hours each week, all while studying to earn a degree, taking care of her child as a single mother, and living in below-average housing conditions.
“Do what you have to do, not what you want to do,” Leal said. “When our minds get tired, we don’t want to open the door because of what is on the other side, but we have to do these things to grow.”
Over the course of just one year, both of her parents unfortunately died, her father in 2008 and mother in 2009, and her daughter was stricken with ADHD. Instead of giving up, she powered through and purchased her first school from a previous owner who had run it for over 52 years.
In 2011, she launched her second school and built a legitimate clientele and social following. This prompted her to produce her own makeup line with an accompanying workshop. Leal then scaled and the sky has been the limit ever since.
Upon realizing her gift for beauty, teaching, and motivating others, she has now propelled herself as a world-renowned and recognized beauty expert. Additionally, she also performs onsite and digital workshops, while having been invited to prominent events in Brazil, Paris, and Austria, among numerous other countries too.

The Flavia Leal Beauty School welcomes women of all walks of life and backgrounds to garner not only skills in the beauty industry but earn licenses and even shift their mindsets!
Advancing far beyond traditional schooling and beautification, Leal and Co. help women adjust their respective mindsets and prepare them to advance their careers and even uplift themselves in their personal lives. Students earn valuable skills and methods in finding success, both professionally and personally.
“Everything is possible. It depends on what you want and believe in, despite where you come from or who you are,” said Leal. “I like to help people. No one can tell anyone that they are not good enough. I opened my school to help all students, regardless of where they come from.”
Courses at the Flavia Leal Beauty School include licensing for manicures, cosmetology, esthetics, advanced beauty education, and international certifications as well.
Leal, herself, is licensed in esthetics, manicures, airbrush, eyebrow design, artificial nail techniques, teaching esthetics, and makeup and is also a cosmetics products demonstrator. All the while, she also serves as a motivational speaker and has been invited to many different events, all over the world, to demonstrate her skills, speak about her life and earn awards along the way.
