For most of us, work takes up the better part of the 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift and our Happy Hour recommendations take care of early evening plans. But where to party the rest of the summer nights away? If you're a fan of the dinner and outdoor movie idea but find the postmortem ambience of Hollywood Forever Cemetery too creepy, the Beverly Hilton Hotel is hosting their To Live & Dive-In L.A. movie series, held poolside every Tuesday next to Trader Vic's Lounge.

What's on the the movie docket? Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (July 20), Up (July 27), Shrek (August 3), Bride & Prejudice (August 10), Little Shop of Horrors (August 17) and Mamma Mia (August 24). If you show up between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., you can stake your cinematic claim in a poolside lounge chair and order some of the half-priced BBQ pork spareribs, crispy coconut-crusted prawns and almond duck tidbits from Trader Vic's happy hour menu. We're assuming you'll already be sipping on one of Trader Vic's mai tais — be careful, they're also half-off during happy hour — a drink which was invented by the man himself in 1944.

Beverly Hilton Hotel: 9876 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills. (310) 276-6345.
