Motorcycle Accident on Highway 108 Left 1 Fatality

SONORA, CA (July 14, 2022) – Tuesday, a fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 108 in Sonora took the life of 57-year-old Betty Marie Cardoza.

According to the report, the accident occurred on June 28th, around 7:20 a.m. The accident involved a 2020 Harley Davidson Glide and a 2019 Chevy Cruz.

Cardoza, who was riding the Harley Davidson, was traveling westbound when she attempted to pass a semi-truck on the left side, on the highway’s Mono Way onramp. The driver of the Chevy, 71-year-old Carlene Valdez, was also traveling westbound when her vehicle collided with Cardoza’s Harley Davidson. The impact caused Cardoza to be ejected from her motorcycle.

The responding officials located 57-year-old Cardoza lying in the roadway with critical injuries. Cardoza was flown to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. There, she succumbed to her wounds and was pronounced dead.

At this time, Sonora Officials are still investigating the Highway 108 motorcycle crash.
