CANCELLED!!! Funny quote from publicist: “It's such a fun event, I swear by the end of the day you'll love doing the chicken dance every hour, on the hour.” Obviously this enthusiastic gal has been drinking the Hefeweizen, since she's referring to the total lack of abandon you'll feel when you cast your flabby arms around doing that freaking, humiliating dance after downing copious amounts of beer at this year's Southern California Oktoberfest. And Ach du Lieber Himmel! Now, all-things-German will practically be in your own backyard. Yup, Barker Hangar's gone Bavarian with strolling blonde-and-braided maidens offering four kinds of Spaten beers, booths brimming with fave foods like wienerschnitzel, goulash, schweinshaxe (that's pork knuckle), strudel, and every wurst known to man. And you can bet your bundt cake you'll be driven crazy by the traditional oompah-pah music churned out by the 21-piece Chico Bavarian Band. Oh, and be on the lookout for that publicist. She'll be the fraulein passed out on the floor.
