Family-owned, the Wine House has been serving oenophiles (and those who just like a nice pinot) since 1978 in an 18,000-square-foot wine lover's mecca. They travel the world, building relationships and making exclusive deals, says co-owner Glen Knight. And they look in their own backyard. “We buy a lot from local auctions, as well as from our customer base, those who might be looking to reduce their own wine cellars,” he explains. Choose from more than 7,000 domestic labels, plus offerings from Italy, Argentina, Chile, France, Japan, New Zealand, Austria and Germany, to name a handful. Classes run 43 weeks a year, ranging from beginner knowledge to a master class on the wines of Spain. “We want people to drink outside the box. We want them to try something different, and without paying a fortune,” Knight says. If you're lost, experts will help you find the right bottle in your price range. À votre santé! —Karre Jacobs
