Vintage clothes shopping is a lost art. Between eBay, hyper-organized corporate outfits and overpicked Goodwills, the pre-grunge heyday of panning for gold in vintage stores is over. Still, you can get the thrill of the hunt at Hollywood's Jet Rag. People go to Jet Rag for one reason: selection. Vintage Sta-Prest, brightly colored leather jackets and old suits compete for space with 1940s prom dresses and dilapidated cowboy boots. No less a vintage maven than Vincent Gallo shops here. Sundays boast dollar sales where things are known to get hectic. You're not going to find neatly organized inventories that allow you to select whatever you came in for quickly. But what you will get is a vintage-clothing safari that brings you back to the day in high school when you found an old Circle Jerks T-shirt at Goodwill for $3. 825 N. La Brea Ave., Fairfax District.
