There's no shortage of great places to taste wine around Los Angeles, with both Temecula and Malibu boasting beautiful, sprawling vineyards where you can happily knock out an afternoon. But sometimes you just want to get your wine sipping done without the road trip. Thankfully there's 3Twenty Wine Lounge in Mid-City — the perfect place to go when the craving hits and the gas tank is almost empty. Inside you'll find two circular wine-tasting stations and one built into the wall, each pouring a different varietal. Insert into the appropriate slot the card they give you — which keeps your tab — and out come perfect tasting portions, 1.75 ounces each. (The machine even thanks you in the language of that particular wine's country of origin. “Merci,” says the French Bordeaux.) There's no limit to how many you can try, and prices per taste are usually around $3 or $4. Our advice? Taste the day away and take a cab home. 320 S. La Brea Ave., Mid-City. (323) 932-9500, 320southwine.com.
