There's more to the world of art toys than custom vinyl figures. The curators of Toy Art Gallery pull together an impressive collection of toys that aren't meant for playtime. From Lladró collaborations with artists like Tim Biskup and Devilrobots to Francesco de Molfetta's porcelain figure of President Obama in a Gundam-style giant robot suit, the gallery features some seriously high-end collectibles. But you don't have to spend thousands of dollars to splurge at this store. There's also a large selection of blind-box toys, often featuring characters from such shows as The Simpsons and Futurama, for $10 and under. For Bronies, there are My Little Pony keychains and cellphone cases. And there are a lot of reasonably priced toys from established artists like Camille Rose Garcia and Joe Ledbetter. There's a new show in the gallery portion of the shop just about every month, which keeps the store's selection fresh. This is a collector's paradise, so if you go to an opening here, show up early.
