Car aficionados and lovers of the offbeat will go gaga for the outstanding and carefully curated automobile collection at Van Nuys' Galpin Auto Sports. Over the last 10 years, the museum's operators have amassed a showroom full of more than 100 very important vintage rides, including one-of-a-kind hot rods created by the legendary Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, Barris Kustoms and Von Dutch. Founded in 1946 to do customization work for Galpin Ford, the Auto Sports division was really put on the map in 2006 as the over-the-top custom shop in MTV's Pimp My Ride. Schedule a free 90-minute tour to get the most of this cool collection and you'll be shown Elvira's Macabre Mobile, with its leopard seats and spiderweb grill; the crazy spaceship-looking 1960s Roth cars (Orbitron, Mysterion and Rotar), gorgeously restored muscle cars, an original Model-T Ford, a Rat Fink merry-go-round and so much more.
