With the relatively recent return of cocktail bars that look like your grandfather’s game room, it seems taxidermy has become a hot commodity for any up-and-coming barkeep (don’t tell PETA). The Seven Grand has a hunting scene in its stairway, and who can forget Little Pedro’s (RIP) stuffed polar bear? But when it comes to dead stuff in bars, Bigfoot Lodge West takes the formaldehyde-preserved cake. It has elk, antelopes, a coyote and something that looks like a marmot. It’s hard to tell in its dark interior (which, yes, was once a set in the Jim Carrey flick Yes Man). And it’s even more difficult after chugging the signature drink, the Sasquatch, which mixes Wild Turkey 101 with ginger brandy, ginger ale and a dash of bitters — it’s sharp enough to peel even the toughest of paint. Careful not to anger your bartender, or you’ll end up on the wall next. 10939 Venice Blvd., Culver City. (310) 287-2200. —Drew Tewksbury
