Melrose Avenue spot Munky King offers a great selection of toys you’re never too old to collect, sold at a wide range of prices. If you’re a fan of blind box items — tiny toys that you buy without knowing what you’re getting — then you’ll want to check out the selection here. We’re fans of Kid Robot’s Adult Swim figures and try to pick up a new box whenever we’re in the neighborhood. Other items include plush characters from Dan Goodsell, blank vinyl figures that you can modify, and custom pieces. Munky King produces some of the figures sold in the shop, like collectibles from local artists Luke Chueh and Yoskay Yamamoto. It also hosts regular art exhibits, including the recent antibullying fundraiser Stop It!, curated by preteen Super Cooper, as well as occasional artist signings. 7308 Melrose Ave., Mid-City. (323) 938-0091, munkyking.com.
