Do you dream of simpler, happier times, when parking was abundant, drinking and cardiovascular exercise could be effortlessly combined, and people wore over-the-top funky clothes? If so, then head to Space Is the Place, a roller disco party at World on Wheels — one of the Southland's few remaining full-scale roller disco rinks. It goes down every fourth Saturday of the month, and you'll hear disco, funk and new wave while you and your friends skate around in circles (hopefully). So what if it's just an excuse to show off your gold lamé dolphin shorts and matching headbands? Helmed by DJ Riley More and joined regularly by Dennis Owens, a Good Foot resident DJ, Space Is the Place has been going strong for more than a decade now. Sure, the skating is fun, but the rest of us disco-loving cocktail enthusiasts will be just as happy taking breaks in the upstairs karaoke bar or the arcade. 4645 Venice Blvd., Mid-City. (323) 933-3333, goodfoot.org/rollerdisco/info.htm.
